Muscat: Logistical issues related to the coming Omani Dates Festival were discussed at a meeting on Monday.
The main committee of the fifth Omani Dates Festival has held a meeting under the chair of Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for Agriculture to discuss the preparations for the festival to be held next October in the Wilayat of Nizwa.
The meeting discussed the logistical matters related to the festival, activities and events associated with the festival, especially the photography competition and drawing competition for school students. The meeting also discussed the roles and tasks of each sub-committee, in addition to the role of the participating parties. A presentation was shown by the companies that bid to organize the festival.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Hamad bin Salim al-Aghbari, Governor of Nizwa, representative of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah, representative of the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources in the Wilayat of Nizwa, Royal Oman Police and the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Riyada).
