Muscat: A OMR1.70 million contract to build an electrical transformer station for the police hospital in Al-Arfan city was signed during a meeting of the Internal Tenders Committee, Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC), a member of Nama Group.
The contract was signed by Engineer Abdullah bin Saeed Al Badri, chief executive officer of the company.
The contract provides for the construction of an electrical transformer station for the Royal Oman Police Hospital in Al-Arfan city, with a capacity of 3x20 MVA, and a voltage of 33/11 KV.
This step comes as part of the company's continuous efforts to develop and operate a safe and economical operation for its network in the Governorate of Muscat, in line with the requirements of comprehensive urban and economic development.
The implementation of this project will contribute to improving the efficiency of the main electricity network. The contract is part of a business package to strengthen the electricity network in Muscat Governorate.
In 2017, the company invested in three new primary stations, with an additional capacity of 117 MVA, bringing the total installed capacity in 170 stations to 6029.5 MVA.
