
Muscat: Operations at the Maritime Rescue Station have been transferred from the Civil Aviation Authority to the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, as part of national efforts to enhance the emergency response system and improve the efficiency of rescue services.
The Authority confirmed its full readiness to operate the station with qualified and specialized national personnel in the fields of search and rescue, water rescue, and ambulance services. The necessary operational and technical procedures have been completed to ensure the continuous provision of high-quality services around the clock.
The station's operational system includes specialised search and rescue teams with the necessary expertise and training to handle various maritime incidents and search operations for missing persons. It also includes water rescue teams equipped with modern equipment and technologies that enable them to carry out their duties in diverse marine environments, as well as ambulance teams qualified to provide emergency medical care to the injured and transport them according to established procedures.
The station's operation is part of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority's strategy to enhance its capabilities in responding to maritime incidents and raise the level of field readiness.
