
Muscat: The total number of registered vehicles in the Sultanate of Oman reached approximately 1,896,956 vehicles by the end of June 2026, marking an increase of 5.5 percent compared to the end of June 2025.
Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) revealed that the number of private vehicles reached 1,503,239, while commercial vehicles amounted to 281,217.
The number of rental vehicles stood at 44,817, and taxis reached 28,859, in addition to 11,764 government vehicles and 10,961 temporary vehicles.
Motorcycles recorded the highest growth rate among all registration types at 10.7 percent, bringing their total to 9,005 motorcycles by the end of June 2026, compared to 8,712 motorcycles at the end of June 2025.
Furthermore, the data indicated that the number of vehicles weighing less than 3 tons reached 1,720,196. Meanwhile, vehicles weighing between 7 and 10 tonnes accounted for 80,736, and those weighing more than 10 tons totaled 54,912 vehicles.
